Junior Church
Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it - Proverbs 22:6
We love children! Parents find the atmosphere of our classes to be positive and faith-filled with facilities that are colourful and specially designed to be kid-friendly. Our trained and Police-checked volunteer team bring an attitude of joy and impart life to children at every age. Children love church so much that they don't allow their parents to miss it!
Junior Church Policy- Helping children to know God through their intellect by learning the Word, through their relationship by receiving Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and through experience by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Sunday mornings are designed to teach children the Word of God by studying main events depicted in the Bible. Taught by a dedicated team, you can be sure that every child is given every opportunity to learn the Word, live the Word and love the Lord.

Junior Church is aimed at children from birth to high school age. Young people in high school are invited to join our youth program and attend nrg on a Saturday night.
If a child is attending Junior Church for the first time, we require the adult bringing them to complete a short identity form which helps us know who is responsible for the child and also highlights and potential problems such as allergies. The Junior Church classes are arranged as follows:
- Tiny Tots (Birth - 1 year)
This area is designed to provide a safe environment to meet the needs of the infant. If your child needs to sleep, feed, play or have a change, this can be done in Tiny Tots. It is also a private area where mothers can feed their children.
We ask it that you provide any feeding and changing equipment your child will need. We are unable to make up bottles or food, so if your child needs something, please keep it simple and easy - bring ready-made bottles and just give snacks (not meals).
Tiny Tots is run with 2 adult teachers and 1 helper.
- First Steps (1 - 3 years)
In this area we encourage the children to play, draw and develop simple social skills. Here we begin to teach children Bible stories and prayer through play, singing, and craft.
If parents wish, we will change nappies and give bottles provided that these are supplied to us. We also offer juice and biscuits. If your child is potty training, please provide your child with a spare set of clothes and let us know roughly how frequently your child will need to go to the toilet/potty.
First Steps is run with 2 adult teachers and 1 helper.
- Trekkers (3 years - reception)
In this class we teach simple Bible stories and principles. We have story time, songs, games and craft activities. There is also a ‘good work and behaviour’ reward scheme in operation which the children really enjoy.
We try to have one toilet run during the morning, to help with routine, and they also have a juice and biscuit break. Again, if your child has toilet training needs, please provide a change of clothes.
This class is run with 2 adult teachers and 1 helper.
- eXplorers (school years 1 - 3)
Here the children are encouraged to start reading the Bible for themselves, and learn about Bible history and Christian principles through stories, games, work sheets, activities and craft.
We aim for this class to be fun and enjoyable, and there the ‘good work and behaviour’ scheme also operates.
This class is run with 1 adult teacher and 1 helper.
- Quest (school year 4 - high school)
The aim of Quest is to encourage children to question the world and make decisions for God. We again use work sheets and explore Bible history and church principles, in an easy to understand form.
We encourage the children to participate in Bible reading and prayer, as well as creatively in music, drama and craft.
This class is run with 1 adult teacher and 1 helper.
As you can see there is loads going on, and we'd love for you and your children to be a part of it!
