Excel is our exciting new men's group, and is open to guys aged 16 and over.
Headed up by Neil Gallagher, one of our Core Leaders, Excel is here to help foster and develop friendships between the men of the church.
Based on the principle in Deuteronomy 28:13 that men should be "the head and not the tail", Excel aims to push the men of Harvest City Church onto the next level of faith so they can achieve all that God has in store for them.
We don't have a regular meeting time as it depends on the planned activity. Details of our next event will appear here first, so make sure you check back regularly to find out what's going on!
Upcoming Excel Events
Barbeque, Friday 13th August, 6.30pm
Join us for a relaxed evening barbeque at Andy Holmes' house on Loughborough Road in Birstall. The night is free and there is no need for a ticket, but please speak to Neil Gallagher to let him know if you want to come so he can keep track of numbers. He will also provide directions. Get in touch, we’d love to see you there!
Over the summer, Excel will be running a gardening service called 'Here We Mow'.
This service is open to anyone in the Church, and for a recommended donation of £15 a team of 3-4 guys will perform a range of outdoor jobs. The money raised through this scheme will go towards our new building. To get involved or to book a team, please visit the Bookshop. To contribute towards our new building see details or donate online here.
In the meantime, why not check out the photo gallery from the last Excel bowling night?
Whilst we have a few men-only meetings with guest speakers, the main focus of Excel is on relationships - we are A Church About People after all! There will be meals, days out and plenty of opportunities to just get together with like-minded guys and chill out. This means that Excel is a great opportunity to invite your friends to church without the sometimes overwhelming experience of a Sunday service, where they can meet Christian guys, see how we live and what Jesus has done for us without the need for preaching.
If you would like more details about the group please speak to Neil, or drop us a line in the office.
