Here are the photos from our City Outreach 2009! The sun shone, the clowns entertained and we all had an awesome day witnessing to people in Leicester!
It started off with lunch at Church, prepared by Alyson and her team, followed by a short walk into town. When we arrived the clowns got busy handing out balloons and making kids laugh (and cry!), whilst the rest of us set up the pitch and started mingling with the Saturday afternoon shoppers.
We had songs courtesy of the worship group and an African band, dance from the girls and dramas from the Creative Arts team. Leko and Zee treated everyone to their (in?)famous Out of Africa routine, whilst Nick and Paul played a drum-duet! Chris and Tracey painted dozens of faces, whilst Sheila oversaw the decorating of hundreds of hats!
The huge yellow dancing-man drew people in from all around and we were able to speak to hundreds of them. Almost 200 people stopped to complete our questionaire, and 61 people gave their lives to the Lord!
As the crowds thinned we headed back to Church where the 'men' took over and lit up the barbeques! For the oldies that was the end, but for the youth it was just the beginning! YPs and NRG welcomed a few new faces from the day and rocked the rest of the night away with a PraiseParty!
It was a fantastic day, and we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved and helped it make it so special. If you missed it, don't worry - we're already planning next year!
Check out the photos below and let us know what you think! (There are a lot of photos in this gallery, so please be patient and wait for all the thumbnails to load before you launch the slideshow.)
