In October we held our annual Out Of Africa event at the Leicester Exhibition Centre. It was a night of music, dancing, drama and food - and it was very well received!
We were treated to an original production of The Lost Son, a drama based on the journey of the prodigal son from Luke 15 (brilliantly written and acted by our Creative Arts team), aided by men's, ladies and girls dance teams. We were also blessed to hear a message from Dr. Tony Kawlasingh, who travelled all the way from Trinidad to be with us for the weekend.
Among the guests at the event we were honoured to welcome both the present Lord Mayor of Leicester and his predecessor who were both gracious and kind enough to address us. We look forward to welcoming them back next year!
The night was capped off with a delicious African banquet, sampling dishes from all over the continent. Many thanks to all who were involved in making the night the fantastic success that it was!
You can listen to Dr. Tony Kawalsingh's message from the following morning at the LEC here:
Unfortunately, the lighting in the room was very poor and, despite a valiant effort by our photographer, many of the photos did not come out. Those that did however have been collected below for you to enjoy.
Check out the photos and let us know what you think! The gallery may take a little while to load, so please bear with it - thank you for your patience!
