This is who we are

We are dedicated to maintaining and living out the following principles in our lives, both public and private. These are the guiding principles of Harvest City Church. We hold these values to be true and we will not compromise on them.

1. God's Word: We believe that the Bible is God's inspired word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for all Christians (2 Timothy 3:16).
2. Manifested Presence: To enjoy God's felt-realised presence is our passion as a church. We believe there is a presence of God available to God's people as they follow the pattern of worship as seen in the Psalms (Psalm 22:3).
3. Holy Spirit Activity: Both in our personal and corporate life as believers, we welcome the moving of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are part of our basic belief system (1 Corinthians 12-14).
4. Dynamic, Spontaneous Praise and Worship: The believer's response to God's presence may be seen in the energetic worship with clapping, lifting hands and singing spontaneous unrehearsed songs unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:18-19).
5. Principle of Unity: Not conformity but unity of spirit and principle. Unity may express itself in a variety of ways but still maintain the same principles and convictions so as to flow together in accomplishing vision (Psalm 133; John 17; 1 Corinthians 1:10).
6. Holiness of God: Holiness is not legalism that is measured by outward look, but a true cleansing of the believer by the power of the Holy Spirit that is evidenced in Christian character and conduct. The fruit is easily born forth.
7. Fervent Prayer: The voice of prayer is heard as we pray out loud together in our pre-service prayer times. This principle of prayer is believed to be the motor or powerhouse to our church life. Individual praying and fasting and prayer for the whole church is a continual emphasis (2 Chronicles 7:14; James 5:16).
8. Excellence: We believe God deserves the best we have to offer; therefore we seek to maintain a high quality of excellence in everything connected to the work of God (Exodus 31:1-3).
9. Relationships: To love one another is our goal and we endeavour to make this practical through small groups called Harvest Groups, where every believer is encouraged to develop deeper relationships with other believers that result in encouragement and accountability (Acts 2:42).
10. Integrity: We hold this value in highest esteem and filter all other values through this one. Uprightness, trustworthiness and transparency are our best foundation stones (2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 1:6).
11. Kingdom of God Influence in Our Culture: We are to be salt and light to our world. The political, the social and the educational penetrated by God's Spirit and Word.
12. Family: We express this commitment in our strong emphasis on family in preaching and teaching (Ephesians 5:3; 1 Timothy 3:2).
